AERTEC Solutions, an international engineering and consultancy firm specialising in aeronautics, has presented the book published by the company entitled The Dream of Flying at Espacio Bertelsmann in Madrid. The Chairman of TEDAE, Adolfo Menéndez; the founders of AERTEC, Antonio Gómez-Guillamón and Vicente Padilla; and the book’s author, Luís Utrilla, took part in the event.

The book provides a historical overview of the aeronautical publications that arose at the very dawn of aviation and pays homage to the creators of a magazine called Motoavión, which was founded in 1928 and specialised in popularising aeronautical knowledge. Félix Gómez-Guillamón was one of this group of people, who along with other colleagues promoted a magazine which served as a source inspiration and motivation for subsequent generations. As Antonio Gómez-Guillamón affirmed, “we wish to pay a simple but heartfelt tribute to our grandfather, Félix Gómez-Guillamón, and to all the others who are and have been popularising science and technical knowledge”.

This book’s publication forms part of the programme of events AERTEC Solutions has been carrying out over the course of 2017 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The company’s workforce, comprised of more than 500 professionals spread out around the world, will get together at a private event in Seville at the end of this month to round off the programme.
